Justice League

A new Justice League arrives next year, with mainstays Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Hawkgirl joined by familiar faces who haven’t been on the team for a considerable time. Black Canary, who hasn’t been in the Main Justice League for nearly a decade, and Hippolyta, who succeeded her daughter to become Wonder Woman and rejoin the League, join the veterans of the team. The series will be directed by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez, with Green Arrow as the new team leader.

New recruits

While Black Adam regularly works towards redemption, especially in the crossover event Endless winter, the anti-hero will play a major role in the Justice League in 2021, a first for the character. He is joined by Wonder Comics character Naomi, upgrading his role in Young Justice to become a full member of the Justice League with co-creator Bendis at the helm.

Titans

The Titans are back, with Nightwing and Donna Troy leading the charge against Lobo, joined by familiar faces including Red Arrow, Wallace West’s Kid Flash and Beast Boy, joined by heroes from the Titans Academy. While it is unknown what would pit the Titans, including his young daughter Crush, against Lobo, Red X is also poised to play a major role, seen watching the fighters from the horizon.

Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad Function

A new Suicide Squad is coming to the DCU, with Amanda Waller returning to the helm in Infinite Frontier. This new list includes Electrocutioner, Peacemaker, a Talon of the Owls Court, Superwoman, among others. Most surprisingly, Superboy’s apparent presence, as a continuation of Conner Kent’s leading role in the squad that is expected to take place in Future state. However, it is not clear whether Conner Kent will maintain his role as the team’s new field boss.

Heroes in Crisis

Future State Green Lantern Cover Header

Never the hero of the teaser is triumphant, some obviously not having fun. Foremost among them is Green Lantern John Stewart, kneeling in front of a broken Green Lantern. Future state alludes to John taking the point in the Green Lantern myth going forward, with the central power supply battery running out of power. Infinite Frontier is probably alluding to this worrying development for intergalactic peacekeepers. Barry Allen and Wally West are also seen in anguish, catching Wally retrieving the Flash Cloak, while Shazam is seen in his own electric transformation.

A new evil

Death Metal Darkseid

The only noticeable villain seen in the teaser image is Darkseid, watching the proceedings from the horizon. Last seen during the crossover Dark Nights: Death Metal, the Lord of Apokolips presided over a planet that recreated the events of Final crisis only with him and the emerging triumphant forces. The version of Darkseid in the teaser looks like he looks in Death Metal, with coiled horns visibly emerging from its head.
