"Jane the Virgin" star Justin Baldoni adapts Colleen Hoover's love film "It Ends With Us" to the movies through her entertainment company Wayfarer.
Baldoni announced Monday that he had opted for the project on his Instagram account. "It Ends With Us" was released for the first time in 2016 and follows a young woman through the tumultuous stages of a violent relationship. After moving to Boston after college, she decided to start her own florist business before falling in love with a young neurosurgeon.
The novel has been translated into more than twenty foreign languages and has sold over one million copies worldwide. The book was voted Best Novel Novel of 2016 by Goodreads.
Baldoni made his directorial debut earlier this year with "Five Feet Apart," released by CBS Films and Lionsgate. It then became the third CBS Films movie to generate the most revenue ever, with a budget of $ 7 million. He is about to lead "Clouds" for Warner Bros., which will go into production this summer.
In addition, Baldoni created and directed the documentary series "My Last Days". He also describes Gina Rodriguez's love affair with Rafael in The CW's "Jane the Virgin," which is now in its fifth and final season.
