Evans' husband, David Eason, was reported to have shot and killed the couple's French bulldog at the beginning of May, after he scratched his daughter Ensley's face. The investigation began after Nathan Griffith, Evans' former minister, called the police to ask him to check on his son's well-being when he heard that a dog had been shot dead at home. Once the story was told, the child protection services opened an investigation and eventually the children were kidnapped in Evans' custody. For the moment, it's unclear whether there is any evidence of wrongdoing by Evans, but she will not recover her children until the investigation is complete.
Kailyn Lowry and Evans did not follow most of the show

When the news announced the loss of Evans' detention, Lowry did not comment too much. However, Lowry recently issued a statement with friend and co-host of the podcast, Lindsie Chrisley, about their position in Evans' situation.
