Kalank trailer: This is a love story unfolding before independence.Kalank's trailer, featuring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, has gone out and continues to maintain the tone set in the teaser.
From what we can deduce, Kalank revolves around Roop (Alia Bhatt) and Zafar (Varun Dhawan). Both come from different worlds and these worlds come up against the brink of independence.

The characters of Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur are married, but their world is not as peaceful as they would like. Madhuri Dixit plays the woman who will probably deliver the lines of "shayrana" throughout the film, defending true love. Sanjay Dutt plays a character similar to "zamindar" who fights to keep his family together. Kunal Kemmu also plays a central role in Kalank.
Over the trailer, we see many shots of hundreds of people dancing on sumptuous sets. The film certainly has the hangover of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali costume drama, but it remains to be seen how this inspiration translates to the screen.

Overall, Kalank is a movie with a lot of characters and it seems that they will all play a vital role in the progression of the story.
Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is released on April 17th.
