Kanye West reveals that he's "not allowed to mention" Drake or his family in an interview with David Letterman

He helped spark a bitter quarrel with Drake via a series of dissemble pieces of Pusha-T that he produced in 2018.

Now, Kanye West talks about his former friend, even indirectly.

During an interview with David Letterman airing on Netflix next Friday, the 41-year-old rapper and producer declined to name Drake by name.

"An artist I will not mention, because I'm not allowed to mention it, or any of his family members … Well, we had a little beef last year," he said. said Kanye in his episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

He then revealed that he was referring to Drake by quoting a rapper Hotline Bling's line.

"He has this phrase that I like very much and that says," I told my story and did the story "- as in his story and history. That's what we do, we tell our story and then people relate to that story. & # 39;

"I have a friend who told me that my power is my influence," he continued. "And I said that my power is my ability not to be influenced."

Presumably, Kanye's ban on mentioning Drake comes from his own advertising representatives, though the silence may be an attempt to avoid any food for libel lawsuit.

But by referring to their quarrel with the past and choosing one of God's six lines of praise, Kanye seems to suggest that he overcame his initial fury.

There were already signs earlier this year that Drake had a little calmed down. He approached Monster's artist to clarify an instrumental sample of his track Say You Will, on which he had starred in his 2009 mixtape titled So Far Gone.

Drake had to clear the sample to be able to put the band on streaming services earlier this year, and Kanye praised him.

In an Instagram post for the 10th anniversary of So Far Gone earlier this year, Drake thanked his friend and mentor.
