Kanye West is back on top.
On Sunday (September 5), the people of Billboard reported that Yeezy’s Dondone album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after moving 309,000 equivalent album units in its first week. The album marks the biggest total sales of the first week of 2018, with Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour album moving 295,000 equivalent album units when it was first released three months ago.
With those debuts, Kanye tied Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. Between the success of his Donda live listening sessions (and its sold-out products) and that # 1 placement, it’s safe to say Kanye had a great week.
