Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL), Ghana's trusted drink manufacturing company, has been recognized as the best tax compliance firm for indigenous people for 2018 by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
This award recognizes KCL's commitment to filing its tax returns and complying with tax laws, which have contributed immensely to national development.
Presenting the awards to KCL on behalf of GRA Commissioner General, Kofi Nti, Deputy Commissioner of GRA's Large Taxpayers Office, Edwin Gyambrah presented the only ISO-certified beverage manufacturer in Ghana.
He revealed that KCL paid a total tax of 85.4 million GHC in 2018, which represented an 8.5% increase in 2017.
The Deputy Commissioner indicated that the award was intended to ensure that Kasapreko Company Limited became the model for other Aboriginal businesses to encourage them to meet their tax obligations to the government.
"We have found that your compliance rate with respect to your filing date, regular payment of your co-operation tax, employee taxes and excise duties have been very good and, therefore, the GRA is aware of this and wants to use you as We inculcate in other local businesses that we not only collect taxes, we also appreciate what companies are doing, "he said.
In his response, KCL Director General Richard Adjei expressed gratitude to GRA for recognizing his team's efforts in the revenue mobilization process.
According to him, one of KCL's key objectives in recent years is to become a company that other companies admire in Ghana, not only as the best brand in marketing and sales or in social responsibility companies, but also for the payment of the required fees. .
"We are very pleased that GRA has recognized our hard work and contribution to the economy as a whole, and we hope it will encourage other local businesses to follow," Adjei said.
He urged the GRA to continue to enforce its laws to allow other non-compliant companies to comply with them in order to create a relatively competitive landscape for companies that comply and pay the correct amount of money. 39; taxes.
Mr Adjei also called on the government to also provide the KCL with a form of tax relief in the form of appraisal, in addition to the allocation, in order to allow the company to to embark on other job creation projects that guarantee the payment of more taxes.
He added that KCL was building a new factory in the Ashanti region, specifically in Tanoso, Kumasi District, and had applied for the construction of only one district, one of the largest in the country. a factory waiting for approval.
He therefore called on the government to provide support in the form of reduced tax rates to allow the company to grow.
