She wrote, "A ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry.
"So grateful to all who took care of me #bobble."
Another photo shared with her 2.5 million followers showed her lying in her hospital bed.
The Underworld star did not share more information, but she responded to her hairdresser-stylist Peter Savic, who asked him when it had happened: "Today !! Thank you darling I love you. "
Sarah Silverman – a close friend of Michael Sheen, former partner of Beckinsale – simply wrote: "OMG !!!!".
