I ask this because, during an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, the veteran TV and movie actor has revealed that she doesn’t, in fact, go by “Katherine” in her private life.

“Nobody calls me Katherine,” she said. “Sounds a lot more sophisticated, doesn’t it? Like an adult named Katherine. It helps me separate my job from myself if that makes sense. I just had to adopt it.”

Indeed, when it comes to her personal life, “Katherine” actually prefers to be called Katie. Who knew! Well Barrymore, for one, who referred to the actor as such during the interview.
“Do you have the impression that these two women are running inside you? Barrymore asked, to which Heigl replied, “I feel that way. I feel like I can introduce myself as Katherine when I need to, but most of the time I’m just Katie.”
