Bacolod City: Jovin Bedic, captain of Kaya FC-Iloilo, believes that the Philippine team is fully prepared for the crucial match of the AFC Cup Group H from 2019 against PSM Makbadar, of Indonesia.

The Philippine international skipper Kaya Bedic scored the club's first goal this year in a 1-1 draw against Lao Toyota, before scoring the second goal in a magnificent 5-0 win over the Area champion of ASEAN Home United last month.

A late tying goal saved 1-1 draw against PSM Makbadar a fortnight ago and, with an intriguing return meeting in perspective, the 28-year-old striker spoke exclusively to the-AFC.com in preparation for the clash at Pana-ad Park and at the football stadium.

Hello Jovin, what has been your experience of the AFC 2019 Cup so far?

This is our second participation in the AFC Cup and so far, I think it's a tougher group than the last time since we have PSM Makbadar and Home United in our group, but we managed to take the lead of the standings so far.

You have been in shape in this tournament, including your first goal in a continental club. What did you feel?

It's a great feeling for your club and I'm so happy to have scored my first AFC Cup goal for the team.

How confident was this victory for the ASEAN zone champion team, Home United, last year?

This victory gives us a lot of confidence, since he was the ASEAN Zonal Champion, but no matter who we face, we execute our coach's game plan and that's what made us win.

Kaya then scored in stoppage time to play a draw at PSM Makbadar – how important could this goal be for your qualifying hopes?

It was an important goal for us, because if we lost the match, they would be top of the group. We would have struggled to qualify because only one team was going to the round of 16.

Group H: PSM Makbadar – Kaya FC Iloilo

What did you learn about your opponents that day?

I think that they were more difficult than we thought, they have the advantage of height and are good at fixed play. We've talked about it in training so we'll be ready for tomorrow's game.

How does the team feel ahead of tomorrow's game, knowing you'll earn three more points than Makbadar?

We are ready for a difficult battle tomorrow. If we can win, we will have three points of difference and we will consolidate our place at the top of the group.

Was there a goal at the beginning of the group stage and has this goal changed since?

No really, we just take one game at a time. No matter who we face, we are simply working to make it difficult for them to fight.

At the start of the AFC Cup, we were not expecting much. We had a new coach, new players and a new structure in the team.

But after we beat Home United in our stadium, it gave us more mutual confidence to do better in this competition.

What would you consider a success for Kaya in this season's AFC Cup?

For me, I think our undefeated race so far in the competition can already be considered a success.

Hope we can win tomorrow and continue our undefeated tournament.
