This is a luxurious resort with beach views, pools and private cabins, where former Bachelor candidates are sent out to have fun and eventually find love.

But former Bachelor In Paradise star Keira Maguire has revealed that the Mango Bay Resort, a four-star hotel in Fiji, where the series of meetings is filmed, is anything but naïve.

"It's 40 degrees, they probably all have the belly of Fiji, I'm not kidding," says the reality, before describing the place as a "dump".

The 32-year-old made a surprising confession during The Buzz podcast, which also features Big Brother star Mikkayla Mossop and Joey Carroll.

"Because the place looks good on TV but that's a dump," Keira said on the podcast.

Keira and Mikkayla spoke about the beauty of the cast in the series. Mikkayla said: "There is no photoshopping on TV".

Keira, who appeared in the series last year, then responded by stating that the actors were still able to look good despite a less than stellar environment.

TheThe village of Namatakula is just a drive away. The pictures taken by Daily Mail Australia tell a story very different from that filmed in the hit series Channel Ten.

Home to about 2,500 people, the streets are lined with tin roof cabins and children who earn money selling food.

The second Bachelor In Paradise series is expected to return in early 2019.

Richie Strachan, Alex Nation, Brooke Blurton, Cbad Wood, Cat Henesy, Vanessa Sunshine and Rachael Gouvignon are among the previous candidates.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Ten to comment on this story.
