The toddler Molly Hughes paces her Kentucky yard, swaying in a tire, drawing in pink chalk in the driveway and picking the herbs that she presents to her mother in a bouquet.
The 21-month-old girl just wants to stay still and who can blame her? She spent most of her young life struggling to stay alive.
Molly's family recently learned that she was not suffering from cancer after 15 months of grueling treatment for stage 4 neuroblastoma completed in January.
Mom Chelsea Hughes says that she fell to the ground after receiving the call with the news.
"I just hugged her for about five minutes," she said wiping her tears.
In total, Molly spent 130 nights in a hospital, but she is catching up now.
"She loves being outside. From the moment she gets up until she goes to bed, she is crazy, she plays, she is full of energy and loves to do what a baby should do, "said Hughes.
Molly's treatment included surgeries, stem cell transplants, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Family photos show him with a big smile and a big port for medicines in the chest.
"With neuroblastoma, he is so aggressive that they have to treat him so harshly," said his mother. "It will only bounce back after each treatment. I mean, it would upset her for a few days and she would start playing again.
Molly will now start a drug on trial to fight cancer.
Hughes is grateful for all his prayers and support for Molly, believing that she has helped the little girl through this ordeal.
The toddler sports a quote from Shakespeare that says it all: "Though she's small, she's fierce."
