The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a Kenyan lady, Angela Wairimu, who had tried to introduce 6.5 kilograms of cocaine into Nigeria via Abuja Airport.

She was stopped on her arrival from South Africa aboard the Ethiopian Airline flight bound for Abuja with the illicit substance concealed in the false bottom of a travel bag that she was carrying. as hand luggage.

According to her, a South African friend approached her to help an unknown person hand over the folder containing worn clothes to Nigeria, which was brought to her at the airport by a shopping boy.

She was to deliver the package to the sender's husband who was to meet her at NAIA in Abuja.
She claimed to be on her second trip to Nigeria to buy body cosmetics and homemade local fabrics for her company called The Model in South Africa and Kenya.
She denied being under any financial incentive, but confessed that her daughter was suffering from acute leukemia that was putting her under financial pressure.
