The woman from southwestern Kenya who was tested for Ebola went to the hospital with fever, headache, joint pain, sore throat and vomiting.

She had been treated for malaria in a small hospital, but her condition worsened.

She was re-tested for malaria and the results were negative. It is at this time that health workers have referred him to the Kericho County Reference Hospital, which has an isolation unit.

She later developed diarrhea but it was said that her condition was improving now.

The private clinic referred her "for caution" since she had gone to the border with Uganda.

But it is important to note that the area she visited was located in eastern Uganda. The outbreak confirmed last week has occurred in the west of the country, on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His blood samples were taken in Nairobi for testing.
