"Currently, we export cashew in the raw state and it does not pay much, so we want to install a big farm and turn nuts. This will help empower youth and reduce rural-urban migration, "he said.

Mr Ocansey said that this initiative was the culmination of his academic research project that he had led to the University of Ghana a few years ago.

"Our concept is strong and viable because we started the pilot project with the small resources we have. It's capital capital because we have to install drip irrigation and other important investments, "he said.

He explained that the project was based on a nuclear farm of 78,000 trees of 500 Hector benefiting from a drip irrigation system and a growers program from 400,000 to 1,000. 000 of trees.

Mr Ocansey said the Kete-Krachi farms had a strategy to be certified organic and not to use chemical spraying on any part of the farm.

"The farm will begin processing cashews for export in 2022, as well as cashew apple juice for local consumption and export. Bees will also be an important part of the farm, so bee products such as honey, propolis and wax will also be available for sale. "
