Kevin Smith responds to Stan Lee's "Captain Marvel" cameo with a sweet tribute

Kevin Smith was "a boondoggle" after seeing Stan Lee's cameo in Captain Marveland, in return, it provides a tribute on several levels.

The cameo of legend Marvel It's produced in the film during a scene where Captain Marvel (a.k.a Carol Danvers) is looking for a Skrull among human pbadengers on a train.

Lee is sitting in one of the cars and whispers the words "trust me, true believer", as they are read in the script of the cult movie Smith, 1995 Mallrats. Danvers writes the script to check for signs of Skrull with Lee, knowingly smiles as a tribute to the Marvel legend, and moves on to something else.

So why Mallrats? Lee made a foray into Smith's film as himself, offering love tips to the comic strip Brodie (played by Jason Lee). Captain Marvel, set up in 1995, Lee had "prepared" this role.

On March 9, Smith posted on Instagram after seeing Captain Marvel, and describes himself as "a bluffing mess".

"After spending all our lives doing SEO in movies, these have just referred me!" he wrote, thanking Marvel Studios, directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and "my friend" Stan Lee for shoutout.

"But if I'm now part of the @marvel universe, I have only one question: did I survive the breakup?"

Since then, Smith has been busy announcing Monday his intention to recover Marvel for Lee. Captain Marvel cameo with a tribute set to appear in his Jay and Silent Bob restart, which is filming.

Smith has posted on Instagram a movie showing Jason Lee, who has taken over his role as Brodie Bruce, taking over a Captain Marvel comic, that Stan Lee created with Gene Colan. Phew.

So many levels. So many references. This sounds ok for Kevin Smith.
