James Kotei receives his award
Ghanaian midfielder James Agyekum Kotei was named midfielder of the season for Simba SC after an outstanding campaign.
Kotei was out of competition with teammates Jonas Mkude and Hbadan Mzamiru to clinch the coveted gong on Thursday night at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony.
The 25-year-old was very excited for the Tanzanian giants in the CAF Champions League, who reached the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
He played in Dar es Salaam's 12 games from the preliminary round to the quarter-finals.
Kotei also played an important role in the defense of the Tanzanian Premier League by Simba SC, who played 32 games out of 38.
