Musician and International Gospel Preacher Sonnie Badu begs President Akufo-Addo to rename Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in honor of former President Jerry John Rawlings.

The former president who died on November 12, 2020 was buried on January 27, 2021.

Speaking about it on social media, Sonnie Badu wrote: “JJ do something before dying” were the songs !!! You have indeed done everything you needed … You will always be a role model for some of us. Thank you for everything you have done for Ghana. Your funeral is so beautiful that some of us want to work even harder and make the nation proud …… Now dear President, @nakufoaddo How about changing Kotoka International Airport to JJ International Airport Rawlings? In all honesty it would be nice to hear his name more often all over the world at different airports “flight 737 flying to Jerry John Rawlings International Airport in Accra, Ghana” … I know God will touch your heart to do that … just by saying.
