Parents in distress and relatives of Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, a 15-year-old girl suspected of being kidnapped in Sekondi-Takoradi, appealed to Ghanaians to help them find their daughter.
The victim, a freshman at Sekondi College in the Western Region, reportedly disappeared on December 21 from last year around Nkroful Junction, near Takoradi.
The call has been the subject of an increase in kidnappings of people, especially girls in Sekondi-Takoradi, in recent months.

In an interview with the newspaper, Francis Bentum, father of Priscilla Bentum, said that he had up to now paid a total sum of 4,500 GH ¢ to the suspected kidnappers.
He mentioned that the kidnappers had called him on the phone and had asked for money to free the girl, but to no avail.
Bentum, however, said the suspected kidnappers had stopped asking him for money as soon as a Nigerian suspected of being a union member was arrested in Kansoworodo, near Takoradi.

Suspect arrested

Samuel managed to escape custody but was later arrested again in an unfinished building between Kansaworodo and Nkroful in Sekondi-Takoradi.
