Kielbasas at the Polish recalled for the risk of metal parts

According to the USDA, more than 2,600 pounds of Polish style kielbasa ready to eat sold nationwide are being recalled as they could contain pieces of metal.

The products are:

  • 1 lb Vacuum packages containing "KIELBASA OF POLISHED STYLE AT THE OLD ANCIENT KIELBASA OF NORTH COUNTRY SMOKEHOUSE ORIGINAL" with "USE BY 05/09/19".
  • 12 oz Vacuum packs containing "NORTH COUNTRY SMOKEHOUSE * KIELBASA, POLISHED STYLE IN NATURAL FASHION AND OLD FASHION", with the word "USE BY 23/04/19".
  • 1 lb Vacuum packaging containing "KILCHURN ESTATE® SMOKED KIELBASA" with "USE BY 05/09/19".

The products bear the establishment number "EST 5390A" and were manufactured by North Country Smokehouse.

The problem was discovered after a review of consumer complaint files by federal inspectors. According to the USDA, no injuries have been reported.

Anyone who owns these products is urged to throw them away or return them where you bought them.
