Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd criticized the Celtic fans and warned that someone could be seriously injured after being hit with a coin during the late defeat of his team by the Scottish champions on Sunday.

Television footage surprised a coin bouncing off the arm of the former Rangers forward while he was warming up in front of Rugby Park supporters.

Boyd also criticized Celtic fans for their celebrations after Scott Brown scored the only goal in the last minute of Ladbrokes' first division game.

A number of spectators broke off the platform to join their captain, who received a second yellow card for his part, while photographs of the damaged seats appeared after the match.

Boyd wrote on Instagram: "We are led to believe that they are the biggest fans of the world !!

& # 39; Destroy seats, flares and invade the park!

& # 39; Oh, and in case anyone would ignore it, I am only a big ORANGE (it must be just my favorite color) b ******.

& # 39; Cries and abuse that I can handle as a bit of jokes, even if [sic] if others it would be sectarianism.

"Getting hit with a coin, though, is a step too far. Do not worry, I was not hurt, but if that does not stop, someone will get hurt badly.

"I thought those days in (British) football were over."

Boyd found a bit of humor in the situation Monday morning while he was wearing a bandage and slingshot in a photo on social media.

The 35-year-old, whose team will face the Rangers in the fifth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup this week, said jokingly: "50/50 for the game on Wednesday".
