Local cop, @Sergeant Andrew Nhlati, and his wife received praise after they personally went out of their way to ensure that two children who suffered from their mother’s neglect were sent to school after two years of no schooling. .
“In September 2020, an anonymous report was made to police regarding three children aged 2, 8 and 11 wandering alone the streets of Jan Kempdorp at midnight. Police followed and found the children malnourished and physically abused.

“The mother was arrested and appeared in Jan Kempdorp Magistrates’ Court and was released on warning and the children were removed from her custody. It was also found that the children had not attended school. for two consecutive years.
“Detective Sergeant Nhlati and his wife went the extra mile to get the 8-year-old and 11-year-old boy admitted to a local elementary school. They also bought full sets of school uniforms for the sibling. the 2-year-old was also dressed by the couple. “

In more heartwarming news, YEN.com.gh reported that Jeanette Mosa Buthelezi took to Facebook and posted an uplifting story in the #ImStaying group about a policeman who saved an elderly person from drowning. She captioned a poster of the officer with the following:
“He saved an elderly person today from drowning in Phuthaditjhaba Qwaqwa. I’m staying because of people like him.”
Social media users took to the comments section to congratulate the hero cop and many said it gave them confidence in the police knowing there were some good cops there.
