Kumasi, April
09, GNA – The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has successfully executed a
133 development projects, representing 60% of the 201 projects

Assibey-Antwi, Chief Metropolitan Officer (MCE), said that 50% of

education, health, gender, social welfare, water and sanitation, and
environment.

he said, were consistent with the government's program to improve living conditions

Assibey-Antwi stated that the Metropolitan Roads Department had executed
periodic maintenance work to shape the bad nature of the road
network, while improving the activities of pedestrians and motorists.
He suggested that
a total of GH ¢ 5 663 000.00 and 8,000,003 GH ¢ were allocated to routine and periodic programs
maintenance work, respectively.
Around 10
kilometer of roads in the metropolis, were also closed during the
year under review.
Mr.
Assibey-Antwi, referring to the rapid transit project (BRT), explained that
implementation was under way, stressing that the pilot phase had been fruitful and
the roads of Ejisu and Atonsu enjoyed enormous patronage from commuters.
He said a total
418 people with disabilities were badisted by the Disability Fund,
adding that some 6,000 young people have been recruited under the Youth in Agriculture program.
