The vigilance of some City Guards of the Metropolitan Assembly of Kumasi (KMA), led to the arrest of two people suspected of belonging to a union involved in the trade of unhealthy meat in the metropolis.
They understood; a woman, identified as Abiba, and her accomplice, Kwadwo Asare, who were arrested and handed over to Nhyiaeso-Ridge police.
Ms Henrietta AK Aboagye, Public Relations Officer (PRO), KMA, informing the Ghanaian News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, said Abiba was picked up from Adankwame station near the racetrack.
This was after she unloaded boxes of unhealthy chicken for transport to Asuofia in the Ashanti region.
According to the PRO, after the woman’s arrest, she drove city guards to her vendors at Asafo Market, where Asare was also apprehended.
A total of 15 boxes of unhealthy chicken were seized from the culprits.
