The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, paved the way for the construction of a 4,000-room hotel at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Known as "KNUST Alumni Hostel", this large-scale project aims to help solve the housing problems faced by university students.

Safi Properties Limited, a renowned construction and property management company, led by Nana Freduah Agyeman, will build the facility over the next eight months.

The construction of the building was part of the activities organized by KNUST on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who also badumes the functions of chancellor of KNUST.

It was a great joy when Otumfuo, who was beautifully dressed, cut the ground so construction could begin.

However, Asantehene pronounced no speeches.

Nana Fredua Agyeman, CEO of Safi Properties Ltd, said her team would spend $ 70 million for the construction of the modern KNUST hostel.

He said that each of the four blocks would contain nine floors, stating that Safi Properties Ltd would build, operate and dispose of the home (BOT) for 30 years.

Nana Freduah Agyeman called on other stakeholders to partner with Safi Properties Ltd for the construction of the building to reduce congestion on campus.
