Koscielny, Bellerin, Xhaka – Latest news on Arsenal injury and dates back to Napoli shock

[ad_1]

Unai Emery hopes that Laurent Koscielny will be back as soon as possible.

The Gunners' defense failed in the loss to Everton and Sokratis got his tenth booking of the season, leaving the Greek international with a two-game ban.

Arsenal, of course, welcome Naples to the Emirates in the Europa League later this week and hope that the French will come back, but this remains to be confirmed.

The Frenchman has been absent since winning the Europa League against Rennes mid-March.

The 33-year-old is in the same boat as Granit Xhaka, for whom the Naples clash could also happen too soon.

Emery said, "I do not know, we were waiting to see if Laurent could play today, but yesterday morning we knew it was not possible, I want to be positive for Thursday, it depends on its state of progress.

"Xhaka, it's the same, they'll have doubts for Thursday, but we have players and we can take the performance with all the players."

Aaron Ramsey was not fit enough to start against Everton on Sunday, but he stepped off the bench and did not seem to be suffering from another adverse effect and should be good for Thursday.

Konstantinos Mavropanos has been seen only once this season – during a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City. The Greek defender played in the second half of the Arsenal friendly in Dubai against Al Nasr, however, and he tweeted that he was "on track" thereafter.

Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are still recovering from the long-term injuries they suffered earlier in the season.
