Black Stars Assistant Coach Ibrahim Tanko
Black Stars badistant coach Ibrahim Tanko revealed that some of Asante Kotoko's players would be invited to the Black Stars ahead of Ghana's CAN qualifier against Kenya.
Asante Kotoko is the only representative of Ghana in African club competition this year while competing in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
The Porcupine Warriors are the only active club in the country, local competitions being suspended since June 6, 2019 following the presentation of Anas.
They played two Confederations Cup matches in the group stage, defeating and defeating Al Hilal and ZESCO United.
Coach Tanko, who was at Baba Yara Sports Stadium when the Porcupine Warriors defeated ZESCO United 2-1 in their second Group C game of the CAF Confederation Cup, revealed that his head coach Kwesi Appiah monitored the progress of the team.
He says the likely invitation will be handed out to some of the team's outstanding players for the Kenya-Kenya meeting to be held in March.
"We watched them, coaches Kwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu watched the team, they are the ones who play football in the country and a lot of players are coming out of it, so we're watching them." tell Joy FM
"In March, we will play the game against Kenya and hope for a friendly game, I hope we will give the opportunity to some of them."
Goalkeeper Felix Annan has already been outstanding for the Porcupine Warriors, as some fans and experts are already campaigning for his name to be added to Ghana's CAN team.
