Kwesi Appiah, Black Stars coach
Senior national team head coach James Kwesi Appiah warned Asante Kotoko about intimidating football fans in anticipation of their meeting with Sudanese Al Hilal.
The Reds will play Sudanese on the first day of the CAF Confederation Cup in Group C on Sunday (February 3rd) at Al Hilal stadium.
The former Porcupine Warriors player, who led Khartoum FC in the Sudanese Topflight, put Kotoko on guard against the intimidating supporters of Al Hilal.
"Al Hilal is a very good team with a lot of foreign players in their team and they have a very important fan base that intimidates their opponents."
"Al Hilal is a very strong team in Sudan and it will be a tough match for Kotoko."
"It would not be easy for Kotoko to win in Sudan, but if victory were to be won on Sunday, it would be good for all of us," he told Ashh FM.
The former captain of the Black Stars added that for Asante Kotoko to record a favorable result from Sudan, he must demonstrate tactical discipline and focus on the game.
"The Kotoko players have to behave on the playing field and focus more on the match in Sudan because it will be a very difficult match."
The Reds are in Group C alongside Nkana FC, Zesco United and Al Hilal.
