The objects presented to the Traditional Council of Kpone
The Greater Accra Regional Minister donated some items ahead of the 2021 Homowo Festival to the chiefs and residents of Kpone in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra region.
Items received by the Kpone Traditional Council included corn bags, assorted drinks, gallons of palm oil, palm nut bags, nose masks, hand sanitizer, soccer balls of Jessy and an undisclosed sum of money to be shared among the ten family clans of Kpone for the 2021 Homowo festival.
During the presentation, Mr. Henry Quartey, Regional Minister of Greater Accra, congratulated the chiefs and residents of Kpone as they prepare to celebrate the 2021 Homowo festival.
According to the regional minister, the welfare of the people of Kpone was dear to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stressing that the resident should always strive to adhere to safety protocols to help curb the spread of the deadly pandemic. coronavirus.
Mr. Quartey’s speech was delivered by Mr. Alexander Daniel Nii Noi Adumuah, Municipal Director General of Adentan Municipal Assembly and Dean of Regional Municipal Directors of Greater Accra, who also presented the points on behalf of the Regional Minister .
The regional minister noted that Kpone has continued to remain peaceful over the years and praised the chiefs and the people for building a solid foundation and working together.
Mr. Quartey however reminded the population that sanitation issues cannot be ignored and instructed the chiefs and the population to join the operation “Keep your facade clean”, launched recently, which was one pillars of the “Make Accra Work Again” campaign.
The regional minister of Greater Accra said the law would be enforced on the latter as people who flout sanitation regulations would be arrested and prosecuted.
He noted that the Homowo festival marks the end of a year and the start of another traditional calendar, saying that the different family clans of Kpone should reflect and consolidate the gains within the different traditional areas within the Traditional Council of Kpone.
Nii Tetteh Otu II, supreme leader of the traditional area of Kpone, expressed his gratitude for this gesture.
He added that the different heads of households would ensure that the items are shared fairly among the ten family clans of Kpone.
Nii Otu II added that residents should be moderate in their celebration, especially during this time of the coronavirus pandemic.
The chief of Kpone also stressed that residents must support their leaders to bring the necessary development in the community.
The Supreme Leader added that Kpone will soon inaugurate a sanitation court to punish people who break sanitation laws.
