GNA – Kpone Katamanso Office of the National Commission on Civic Education
(NCCE), organized a day of symposium on corruption for residents of
Kubekro, a settlement in the municipality.
Deputy Superintendent
(DSP) Abdulai Mumuni, police commander of Zenu-Atadeka District, in a police station
keynote speech revealed that it was unfortunate that citizens always
officers perceived in uniform as corrupt.
DSP Mumuni noted that,
everyone was able to be corrupt and not just officers in uniform adding that
had not been for the undercover work of journalist Aas, Anas Aremeyaw Anas,
he would not have believed that some judges charged with interpreting the law
were also corrupted.
He added that in a sense
the country could heal itself of corruption and the threat of corruption was to
reinforce the self-discipline of its citizens by adding that it might not be
completely eradicated but would be significantly reduced.

The news agency said that the 1992 Constitution mandated the Commission to
citizens and find a lasting solution to the fight against corruption and
chancre of corruption.
According to him, the
the threat is increasing day by day and the Commission must, with the participation

Mr. Agbenyo also
called on the government and other charitable organizations to help the
Commission in the fight against corruption by providing it with the means
logistics and finance needed to engage more residents and others
stakeholders.
