Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Indian pacemaker, keeps good memories of Lord's and hopes to mark a little more the history of this emblematic place by competing for a final of the World Cup.
The 29-year-old made his home-cricket mark by leading India led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni to a famous Test victory over there in 2014 during his first tour with the national team.
Kumar scored six goals for 82 and struck 52 with the club, but he now wants to be a one – day international star at Lord 's in the World Cup final on July 14.
"I have been here two or three times but I still like to come back to play in England. It would mean a lot to return to Lord's for the World Cup final, "Kumar said.
"Lord's is always a special place, not just for me, but for any cricketer. I have very good memories there, so if we reach the final, it will be a very big moment for not only me but also for the whole team. "
India, now headed by Virat Kohli, has been named as one of the favorites to win the World Cup alongside England and Australia.
They start their campaign against South Africa, which has already lost its first two games on Wednesday.
But a dominant warm-up victory against Bangladesh earlier this week already gives Kumar the badurance of a good performance when presenting the win to 50.
"We had everything we wanted out of the match; as for the stick, the bowling alley and the field, "he said.
Centuries of Dhoni and Lokesh Rahul helped India to reach 359 for seven, a total of their defended bowlers pooling Bangladesh for 264.
Kumar sent five disciplined surpluses, giving up only 19 points to pressure opposition drummers who lost their wickets to the spinners.
"Hunt 350 people is a very big task," said Kumar. "There is always an additional conviction when we go bowling. You have the freedom to try a few things.
