The former president sees the portrait of Dr. Adjei signing the book of condolences
Former President Jerry John Rawlings, founder of the National Democratic Congress (NEC), paid tribute to former party president, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, describing him as a very strong and pbadionate man who has lived his conviction.
The former president said he had a lot of respect for Mr. Adjei because he defended his beliefs and was not materialistic.
Describing Adjei as a fighter during a visit to his family Monday in his Agbogba residence in the suburbs of Accra, former president Rawlings said the deceased was very sad and disappointed many things.
"Adjei was disappointed with our weaknesses as a party. He was disappointed by the politics of our party and by the fact that he had been monetized and held hostage. He was hurt by the loss of the party's value systems, "said Lt Rawlings.

The former president urged the family to stay strong and united during this difficult time and expressed hope that his children would carry some of his fighting spirit.
Associate of the former president and good friend of Dr. Adjei, Dr. Anthony Dzegede, who knew Dr. Adjei from Nigeria, said as a thinker and philosopher that it was natural for Dr. Adjei to become a politician.
Dr. Dzegede described Adjei as a genius with bright, witty ideas and full of insinuations full of humor.
The late Dr. Adjei chaired the party from 2005 to 2014. Previously, he had a rich political history and held various positions under the PNDC and NDC governments.
