Obour, president of MUSIGA
The President of the Ghana Musicians Association (MUSIGHA), Bice Osei Kufuor, also known on stage as Obuor, claimed that Kwaw Kese and his former director, the late Fernec Okyere, had stabbed MUSIGHA in the back recording Ghana Music Week. on their behalf after being invited to a meeting at which the event was discussed for the first time.
The chairman of MUSIGHA was interviewed by Andy Dosty, the host of Hitz FM's Hitz Daybreak show, the April 10, 2019 edition, and explained why Kwaw Kese and his late director were arguing over seriously MUSIGHA's rights on the property of the event. Obuor explained that the boss of Mad Time Entertainment, Kwaw Kese and his manager at the time, the late Fernec Okyere, as well as other musicians were invited to a meeting of the week committee of music organized by MUSIGHA, during which the idea of the Ghanaian music week was explained to them. as an event that MUSIGHA wants to present.
According to Obuor, Fernec, during a discussion with him after the meeting, would have revealed to him that some participants at the meeting had given him the impression that the event could be a private company like the VGMA, because it had also started with the union.
Obuor added that Fernec had furthermore revealed that he wanted to prevent the rehearsal of the VGMA or that he, Fernec himself, wanted to be the smartest type of the meeting. He therefore went to the Registrar-General's department to check if Ghana Music Week had been registered but found that he had not done so, so he recorded it for stop other smart people from doing it.
Fernec and Kwaw later claimed to be the owners of the event when it was time for MUSIGHA to broadcast it. MUSIGHA had to talk to them before he could continue the program that MUSIGHA did not oblige.
The film maker "Konkontibaa" explained that the event had already taken place before being registered. The law was therefore the intellectual property of MUSIGHA and therefore did not require the permission of Fernec and Kwaw Kese before starting.
So he said they still have not registered, because MUSIGHA does not need to do it because that's their brand.
