President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has received the support of the editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. on his gender comment.

President Akufo-Addo, who participated in a criminal discussion at the "World Conference on Women" in Canada, suggested that women had not demonstrated sufficient dynamism to hold positions of responsibility in of governance.

He told the rally of women defenders that "We do not see enough dynamism and activism on the part of those who seek. I talk about dynamism where it counts. . . elect people to parliament, control political parties because they are the instruments by which our societies make their decisions. We are talking about decisions, not wishes and hopes, we are talking about decisions that will make a difference. "

The president was however condemned by some activists who felt that he was presenting a negative point of view on women in the country.

However, speaking of Joy FM's press program on Saturday, Kweku Baako said that there was nothing wrong with what the president had said.

"I have not heard the President take a stand against the empowerment of women, I have heard him urge … (but) to go beyond that and say what he said to be a shame, to impeach him, I do not agree with that.I do not see anything wrong with what the president said … the attack is not going to help the debate " he stated.
