According to the star reporter, most Ghanaians do not understand what the new chamber project is, which is a reason for their agitation.

In a report seen by YEN.com.gh sure Myjoyonline.com, Kweku Baako expressed his disappointment to Ghanaians who demand that the room not be built.

"In my opinion, of course because of the tumult of the public, I see people putting this matter in suspense, but I say we must start with this project," he stated.

"We're not just talking about the debate room, but a lot of people have focused on the debate chamber for which we have reconfigured and done so many things," he noted.

"This Parliament does not favor people with disabilities, it is expected that this new complex has all these facilities," he added.

He reported cases of unrest on the part of Ghanaians about the construction of a similar building, mentioning two examples.

He recalled that Ghanaians were agitated when Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, decided to build "Job 600" for MPs.

He also recalled that some citizens were agitated when former President John Agyekum Kufuor decided to build the Jubilee House, which is currently the seat of government.

He lamented, however, the communication strategies used to reveal the construction plan to Ghanaians.

"I think communication has been a serious problem for the way this case has been put in the public domain," he stressed.
