Kwesi Appiah said that he had "unfinished business" with Ghana and that he remained "very hopeful" that he will be in the team for the Africa Cup of Nations. Nations in June.
The AFC striker at Wimbledon, one of the key players of the Black Stars when they reached the finals of the 2015 tournament, was recalled by Ghana in March for the first time. once in four years for the qualifying match against Kenya.
"For me, going back to Afcon would be a huge honor," Appiah told BBC World Service's Sportsworld program.
I have had a good conversation with the manager, we have a good relationship, we are fairly open and honest about some things and I hope that this call will come to us and that we will be able to meet again and create magic.
"I have given everything, every time I wore this jersey, the coach knows it, the players know my value within the team.
"I hope that I will have this call because I have outstanding business and that we as a nation have pending business." I hope that the experience of the previous tournament where I went can be taken into account.
"It was good to be part of the recent team and to show what I can do before the final selection for Egypt.
"I had a good conversation with the manager, we have a good relationship, we are quite open and honest about some things and I hope that this call will come and we can meet again and create a little magic. "
Appiah, 28, believes that the Ghana team in 2019 – coached by its namesake Kwesi Appiah – is potentially more talented than the group of players that has reached the final of the Nations Cup 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.
"The group was built over a longer period of time, so in 2015, manager Avram Grant was new, so he had to select players for a short period of time without having to spend a long time together.
"This time, the experience as a group is much tighter because they have participated in training camps, qualifying, friendly matches and that manager is building this team around this tournament at its best potential for this tournament.
"Thomas Partey is world clbad, you can see his quality, you can understand why he is a sought-after man, this guy is a sensational talent, and the whole team should be in a better place.
"Since 2015, at every break or international tournament that has happened, all I thought was that we had to get this trophy.
"It's a big problem and being so close to my first attempt makes me realize how important it is to win this trophy, hopefully this year we can bring home the trophy."
Ghana will play in Group F of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt alongside Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.
