FREEPORT, Maine – L.L. Bean awards grants for park and green space projects in Cleveland, Chicago and Boston.

The retailer, in partnership with the Trust for Public Land, has announced $ 50,000 in grants for each of the projects that will benefit thousands of people.

In Cleveland, the money will rehabilitate basketball courts, plant trees and add outdoor artwork to Lakeview Terrace, a social housing project. In Chicago, Douglas Park's dilapidated miniature golf course in North Lawndale will be revitalized. And in Boston, access to the Neponset River will be greatly enhanced in the Mattapan neighborhood.

In October, L. L. Bean announced his partnership with The Trust for Public Land with a $ 1 million investment. The two goals are to ensure that a quality park is within 10 minutes walk of everyone in the United States.
