Athletic Bilbao has definitively ruled out the signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente, also a target for Leicester City and West Ham United, during the transfer window this summer.

The 34-year-old has played only 20 appearances in the Premier League this season and has played the second fiddle with Harry Kane since his arrival.


Although he played a decisive role in the Spurs Champions League semi-final win against Ajax, Llorente scored only eight goals in all competitions of the season .

As such, the Spurs must release him at the end of his contract this month, though they may still offer him new terms.

However, according to the Spanish daily ASAthletic Bilbao has definitely ruled out Llorente's signing this summer.

It is claimed that there is no room for another striker within the first team at Athletic Bilbao.


Llorente will not be an option that they will consider strengthening their team before the coming season.

The Spaniard has sparked the interest of Leicester City and West Ham United in the Premier League.

He has won 24 selections at the senior level for Spain.
