The statement was signed by the party's national president, Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond.
Context
In a recent State of the Nation address, President Akufo-Addo called on leaders of the NPP and NDC to agree appropriate measures to end the unacceptable and worrying trend of partisan surveillance in the country.
The call followed acts of violence that took place during the by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon.
After the appeal, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, in a letter, stated that the NDC was "aware that the Commission [of Enquiry tasked to probe the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence] It is clear that elements of the vigilante groups apparently sponsored by your party have already been integrated into the national security system. "
In response to the letter from the NDC, President Akufo-Addo said in a letter dated March 4, 2019 that the opposition party's statement was false.

However, according to the PPP statement, Ghanaians were still shocked that after 26 years of rule of the NPP and NDC, the two parties have done nothing to improve the welfare of citizens.
"We want to make it known that, in the case of the PPP and the silent majority of Ghanaians, the 26 years of NDC and NPP rule in our politics have proven to be years lost and votes lost to give them the mandate to to govern Ghana.
We sincerely believe with all our heart that the Ghanaians, patient and suffering for a long time, would rise again and show the duopoly: "Do not sit down, make us cheat every day," the statement added.
