Chelsea went to Ireland for a pre-season tour and their first match made a perfect start.

Michy Batshuayi gave the advantage to Chelsea early in the first half with a nice finish.

It was Lampard's first match after Maurizio Sarri's replacement in the Stamford Bridge canoe.

But Eric Molloy badured that it would not be a winning start since he hit in the 89th minute.

Now, some Blues fans have seen Lampard, the best scorer of all time, Lampard.

Despite the late equalizer against a mid-season team, Lampard thought it was still a good workout.

He said: "It was a difficult match for us, we have not been back for a long time.

"There was a little pressure on the guys, we work hard, I'm happy with the result.

"Fitness was our problem, we worked hard this morning.

"I wanted to stretch them a bit and put them under pressure, that's what the pre-season is.

"The sooner we reach the desired level, the better.

"We wanted to win the match, but that's not why. It's about being fit and being on the edge. "
