New Delhi: Renault launched on Monday in India the updated version of its popular Duster SUV Duster, offered between ₹8 lakh and ₹12.5 lakh (ex-exhibition hall).
The SUV is available in three trim levels (RxE, RxS and RxZ) and in nine variants. Here's how they are charged:
RxE gasoline MT: ₹7.99 lakh
RxS gasoline MT: ₹9.20 lakh
CVT gasoline RxS (O): Rs 9.99 lakh
Diesel RxE 85PS: ₹9.30 lakh
Diesel RxS 85PS: ₹9.99 lakh

The model is available in two engine options: 1.5 liters of gasoline and 1.5 liters of diesel. While the gasoline version has an option for the CVT automatic transmission, the diesel also has an automated manual transmission option. Both engines are reported from the previous generation Duster.
The 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 106 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. The 1.5 liter diesel engine is available in two settings: one generates 85 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, the other a torque of 110 HP and 245 Nm. The gas station is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission or 6-speed CVT transmission. The low specification diesel variant comes only with the 5-speed manual transmission. The 110 HP diesel engine is badociated with a 6-speed manual transmission or an AMT transmission.
The new Duster is equipped with 25 new features and technology enhancements, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto-Entertainment with voice recognition and EcoGuide, as well as security features such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill-Start Assist, said Renaut India in a statement.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, CEO and Managing Director of Renault India Operations Country, said: "Duster plays a central role in our product portfolio and has the broadest offering in the industry, allowing us to meet the changing needs of our customers. We are confident that The New Duster will appeal to discerning Indian customers. "
The Body Duster sports a new grille with headlamps, DRL diodes, a more aggressive hood, redesigned front bumpers, front and rear skid plates, roof bars, alloys, chrome trim and plastic lining on the tailgate. The new Duster also has a higher hood line, designed to meet pedestrian protection standards.
He added that the company was clearly aiming to develop the Renault brand in India.
"With this in mind, we are strategically strengthening our product line, expanding the reach of our network, and taking innovative steps to satisfy our customers," added Mamillapalle.
Duster was the resounding success of Renault when it launched in 2012, but the SUV is now experiencing a steady decline in sales. In April, Renault announced the launch of four models, two of them brand new, over the next 15 to 18 months, to revive its depressing future.
During fiscal year 19, its sales plunged 22% to about 82,000 units, even as the pbadenger car segment managed to grow nearly 3%, according to Siam data.
The company unveiled last month its compact 7 seater minivan Triber. It has not yet been launched in India, but should be sold between ₹5-7 lakh.
