Apple's credit card, appropriately called Apple Card, is about to be ready for the scheduled time. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the card would be available in August.
The announcement was made during the call of the company results Tuesday (July 30). Cook said the card was tested by Apple employees.
Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs to offer this card, which aims to solve many problems with existing credit cards. If approved, your Apple Card will be instantly available for use in the Wallet app on your iPhone. (The map is not available for Android users.) A physical map will arrive later by mail. You can use both the card and its digital equivalent to pay for transactions in person or online.
Apple offers rewards in the form of Daily Cash, which will also be available in the Wallet app.
The main differentiator may be the lack of fees badociated with the Apple card. The company will not charge an annual fee or late payment for missing a payment (even if you continue to accumulate interest).
Because of Apple's money for purchases that have not been made at Apple, some people take a break, but the lack of fees could appeal to skeptics.
We will test the Apple card when opening applications in August.
