Maruti Suzuki is about to launch today the new third generation R 2019 Wagon in India. On January 14, 2019, the company opened reservations for the new Wagon R with its network of authorized dealers across the country for as little as Rs 11,000. The new Wagon R model will be based on the same 5th generation Heartect platform as the new Swift and Dzire. The new Wagon R, whose price should be in the range of 4.5 to 5.5 lakh (Rs), will challenge the likes of Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and Datsun GO.

Powered by the advanced K-Series engine, the new Wagon R will be available with a new 1.2-liter gasoline engine option with another 1-liter engine choice. The Wagon R is expected to deliver powerful and impressive performance, coupled with high fuel economy. The 1.2-liter Wagon R engine will produce 82 gross horsepower from 113 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1-liter engine of the new Wagon R will provide 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque.
Regarding the exterior, the new Wagon R will always be a high car and square. It will feature a matte black grille and bumper and a fully redesigned headlight. The car also receives the floating roof design as seen on the Maruti Swift.
In terms of safety, the new Wagon R 2019 will be equipped with a driver side airbag, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), a reminder front seat belt, speed warning system and rear parking sensors.
Entering the interiors, the new Maruti Wagon R 2019 is equipped with a large touch-screen infotainment system and steering wheel audio controls. The car offers greater clearance for the legs and shoulders for the back. The two-tone interiors also add to the cabin's sense of space.
The new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in 7 variants, namely: 1.0L LXi, 1.0L VXi, 1.0L VXi AGS, 1.2L VXi, 1.2L VXi AGS, 1.2L ZXi and 1.2L ZXi AGS. Four of these seven variants have the popular Maruti AGS automatic gearbox. The car offers 6 different color options. Maruti Suzuki announced that it would not offer the GNV variant of the new 2019 Wagon R at the launch.
