Launch of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz for Basic Schools

Accra, July 22, GNA – The first edition of
National Science and Math quiz for Catholic high school students
Schools were launched in Accra.

The competition nicknamed "Brain Battle Quest"
(BBQ) seeks to bring Catholic College students and some students
private schools together through healthy competition in the disciplines of
Science, Mathematics and Technology.

It also seeks to educate through edutainment education
while stimulating interest in these areas for national development.

The contest organized by the National
Secretariat of Education of the Catholic Secretariat in collaboration with Cocktail
Media, is expected to have one hundred and twenty (120) students from around the world.
10 regions participated for the ultimate honors of 10,000 GH, 000.
and a trip to China.

Start the competition in Accra,
John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra and
the bishop in charge of Catholic education in Ghana, said the church had more

Ms. Doris Ashun, Executive Director of
Catholic schools, noted for its part that the scientific application and innovation

science education has been prioritized by ensuring that the capacities of teachers are
improved that would allow them to adopt a creative, exciting and practical
methods to bring out the best in students.

Ms. Ashun urged all participating schools to
consider the competition as an opportunity to engage students in
science and mathematics.
