Prince Siita Sofo Hissan, CEO of North Television (NTV), Tamale, has been appointed brand ambbadador for Laweh Open University College by the University.
The award ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, January 30 at the University of Teshie-Nungua, is part of a collaborative agreement between Laweh Open University and NTV.
Speaking at the event, Professor Goski Alabi, President of Laweh Open University, announced that Mr. Hissan would also benefit from a half-scholarship for a two-year Master of Business Administration degree. .
Professor Alabi added that the University would offer full scholarships to five northern students, a facility that should be made public at the parade for National Independence Anniversary Schools scheduled for March 6 in Tamale.
In return, students from Laweh University in northern Ghana will do part of their internship on North Television. Similarly, the two institutions will also collaborate on other relevant programs in a timely manner.
Prince Hissan expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and badured the University of his unwavering support. He said his decision to create North Television was based on the belief that the media could be used to advance the development agenda of northern Ghana. He was impressed by the tremendous progress made by the Laweh Open University during its two years of activity.
Prince Hissan has won a lot of laurels. In 2017, he won the "Media" category of the "Under 40" awards ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. In 2018, he was named CEO of the Year at an awards ceremony by event organizers as, Xodus Communications.
Mr. Munkaila Abdulai, consultant member, was present at the event; Ms. Sarah Ackah, Human Resources Manager; Ebenezer T. Hanson, Marketing and Communications Manager; Miss Belinda Bornmai, Academic Affairs; Mr. Lawrence Alantee, Multimedia Manager; and Sidney Quartey, Marketing Manager, all of Laweh Open University College.
