As the world celebrates Christmas amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, an international evangelist, urged Christians to adhere to COVID-19 protocols as part of measures to contain the disease.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Christmas Eve in Accra, Dr Tetteh said Christians must find hope in the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ despite the pandemic.

“Christmas is not about celebration; Christmas is not about drinking or drinking; Christmas is not about the wealth you have or who has won or who has lost.

Christmas is a matter of joy to the world through Jesus Christ and the Christ Factor as we celebrate Christmas must not be lost.

The celebration of Christmas in many countries around the world this year is hampered by physical distancing and other restrictions as part of measures to contain the spread of the virus.

He said there was no dispute that COVID-19 had claimed precious lives.

He said the loss of more than 300 lives in Ghana to COVID-19 was a great loss for the nation, saying “So we shouldn’t take our lives for granted.

“We must remember that the international community applauds Ghana; we still have to preserve ourselves because we only have one life to live. “

Dr Tetteh, who is also the founder and president of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, said sticking to the protocols will save people’s lives.

“We should all be aware of the reality of COVID-19,” he added.

The international evangelist has said that COVID-19 is real and that so far science has no solution.

“Anyone can become a victim of the pandemic, so we have to be very careful not to let our guards down as we celebrate Christmas,” he said.

“Remember, we are still battling an invisible virus that takes lives. We must pray fervently that God will give us the wisdom to be able to keep the protocols. We need a very holistic approach to deal with this virus. “
