The lawyer of the woman badaulted by a police officer disputed claims that the victim was not available to badist in the prosecution.
The accused, Frederick Amanor Skalla, was acquitted by the court for what was described as non-prosecution.
According to reports, the victim was unable to badist the police in his investigations or to appear in court to testify, which made the prosecution more difficult.
Samson Lardy Anyenini, a private lawyer, who helped the victim to bring a civil suit against the savings and credit company where the attack took place, however, firmly refuted the police's arguments.
The explanation, according to the lawyer, hinted that the police were ready to hurt.
Mr. Anyenini stated that his client received a police call one afternoon to appear in court in Accra the next morning.
This was a serious disadvantage, however, as she was in the capital of the Ashanti region, Kumasi, 248.3 km from the capital, where she is caring for her sister who suffered a stroke.
Mr. Anyenini added that he had asked the victim to ask the police prosecutors to request an adjournment so that she could appear on the agreed date.
She has not heard from the police since.
The lawyer believes that the recent case filed by the police is a calculated and clandestine plan well executed by the police.
"They go to court, take the adjournment, she does not inquire and the excuse that they seem to have given the court is that she [the victim] is the one who does not make himself available, "he lamented.

Samson Lardy hinted that he would ask the chief prosecutor to seize the case and undress the police.
He added that state prosecutors had to prosecute.
