Leah Bracknell writes poignant manifesto on cancer after living several months

Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell began writing her "cancer manifesto" after spending several months living two years ago.

Bracknell, 55, has already defied the odds as she battles with terminal lung cancer.

Leah spoke at a cancer awareness festival last week about her fight against the disease and her journey so far.

She told the audience, "I wrote the Cancer Rebel Manifesto for Life, to remind me of what to do to keep your head out of the water.

"To thrive and continue to live while living with cancer and defying expectations every day."

She went on to say: "Against the fear of cancer, against my prognosis, against the pity of others and myself, against the reduction of cancer …

"Against cancer, against cancer, against cancer and against death."

Bracknell addressing other cancer survivors and the public, added, "I embrace the strength of my mind

"I take every opportunity that cancer gives me to learn, grow, blossom, embrace the glbad half full, embrace healing, j ' kiss laughter, embrace joy, embrace hope …

"And above all, I embrace life."

Her manifesto ends on a positive but heartbreaking note: "I am a fierce-core cancer rebel, an independent spirit, a warrior spirit and an ocean of desire to continue to make the difference and make noise as long. there is a sweet breath in my body ".

Leah has been diagnosed with lung cancer although she has not been smoking for many years. She now writes a blog titled "Something Begins with C" and documents her fight.
