During the search, it was discovered that carefully packed objects, covered with three T-shirts in his hand luggage, were bundles of dollar and euro banknotes, which he had not not previously reported to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The suspect told investigators that the money belonged to him and that he was the managing director of Lamo Industries Limited, maker of aluminum profiles and forging metals, which was apparently false.

When he insisted more, Saddam Hussein mentioned the name of another Lebanese who would have given him the money to be handed over to his trading partners in Lebanon.
