Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968 and has become one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups of modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums around the world. The band was born from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page had John Bonham, John Paul Jones and Robert Plant on tour as New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released his first self-titled film, produced by Page, as well as all the following albums. This marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely regarded as the largest and most innovative rock band in the world.
